A Beautiful Breech Birth Story
A LITTLE BIT
ABOUT ME,
THE WIMBLEDON DOULA
Hello, my name is Bex. I'm a mum to 3 vivacious girls, living in South West London. I’m a keen swimmer, boxer, reader, and a self confessed birth nerd.
Since having my first daughter in 2014 I have become incredibly passionate about birth, mental health and the benefits of physical movement and nutrition through pregnancy and beyond. I have practised yoga for over 15 years, studied hypnobirthing, and breathing techniques for the benefit of mindset.
Through experiencing my own births and extensive reading and training, I am well informed in the physiological birth process, biomechanics of birth, and nutrition in pregnancy. I feel very strongly that women and birthing people, when entering the space they choose to birth, are fully informed of their choices and rights whilst giving them the space to go inward and focus on their body and birthing their baby.
I have become increasingly aware, when discussing childbirth with friends and acquaintances, that a majority of women have a traumatic story to tell. This is one of the main reasons I decided to embark on the journey of doula-ing. I feel very strongly that there is a lack of support and knowledge within our society surrounding childbirth. Advocacy is a big part of the work I do and feel that everybody, whether they birth at home or in hospital, should benefit from having another voice in the room to support their needs, alongside their birth partner.
My role as a doula is to give continuity of care, unbiased facts and stats, individualised care and attention, and to give a mother the tools to feel empowered and in control of their birth choices, whatever they may look like.
If you feel I can support and help you find your empowerment and take ownership of your birth experience, please contact me for a free half an hour consultation and from there we can establish if I am the right fit for you!
